Leadership is multi faceted and no one person knows or understands it all,but there are conceptions we have about leadership that aren't the true picture of leadership, these are the few of those wrong concepts.
1.LEADERSHIP IS TO PIONEER
* We all grow up to know and see those who are in front as leaders, being in front or starting something doesn't make you the leader,
* Mrs Funmi had an idea to start an NGO to help the less privilege and she was so successful at it for two year,here is the issue, she was to running the organization alone with her personal resources,
*Now Because she pioneered it doesn't mean she is leading.
*Leadership is not about starting ,its about using your influence to get things done through people.
2. LEADERSHIP IS KNOWLEDGE
*Knowledge is powers said Sir Francis Bacon But that's not totally true .
*my few years in the university I have met very intelligent and highly knowledgeable professors,professors that get real thrill by their IQ Level.

*But I also know and have seen how are terrible some of them are In managing people.
* intelligence doesn't equate leadership, in fact I have observed has that highly intelligent people usually have poor people skills.
*Leadership is not knowledge yet there is no Leadership without knowledge.
3. LEADERSHIP IS POSITION
*Position is not Leadership but is a platform for leadership.
*Let me share an experience with you storyπ€©π€©,So in 2015 I was pulled out as parish pastor o to come lead the youth in the headquarter church.
*Upon my arrival I discovered my brother and friend Alfred Ante had more influence on the youth than I do.
*young people who rather hear and love to do his biding than mine.
*My dear I can't come and kill myselfππππ€©π€©,so I'll meet Alfred at home or call him for a meeting to discuss things I wished done.
* I'll then ask him please can you bring this up in our next meeting please, he will answer this usually "sure we're in this together"
*That's how I was able to get some things done during my stay there,
*I had a job to be done and I won't allow TITLE OR POSITION STOP ME.
I had to ride on the influence Alfred to get things sorted out, till I was able to develop my own influence .
NOTE*:You know a person that has influence, when in a meeting everyone one looks at him or her to say something when a question or a matter arises.
4.LEADERSHIP IS MANAGEMENT
* Often we confuse a manager as leader,Leadership is not management
* Although they have some similar features but they are not the same ,leadership create a path management maintains the direction.
* Management is concern about maintaining the status quo and protecting processes from being hampered.
*Leadership is evolving and looking for new ways to get better results.
*In fact managers fight against Change, by the way,this is how you distinguish a leader from a manager. Leaders always create change, A manager maintains the change but never changes thee change .
5. LEADERSHIP IS ENTREPRENEURSHIP.
*When a person is a person is an entrepreneur we suddenly see them as Leaders but that is not automatically true,
*I have met great and excellent entrepreneurs that know nothing about Leading people.
*My coming to Lagos I volunteered to work for an entrepreneur (πππππ I love stories) but I couldn't last past one month in the organization.
* In fact looking at the organization records the oldest staff was 3 months
*Some lasted for 2 days and some for Just 2 weeks , her leadership skill was Hmmmmmmmmm!( you know what i mean π)
*But she has a great mind and also an excellent entrepreneur which I still admire but in Leadership she needs good work there.
* You can't claim to be a Leader because you are an entrepreneur when you don't have any influence.
*Leadership is Influence nothing more nothing less said John Maxwell.
