LEADERSHIP CRAFT SERIES
I know the topic goes against your ideology and philosophies of who a leader should be, a leader should be calm headed, a conformist or a gentle man. Well! that may be true, but every true leader knows that for you to be successful in life and lèàdership you have to be a rebel at somè point, you may have to wear the stubborn hat and even controversial sometimes.
Successful leaders are people who confront the norm, go against the tide, you cannot be a successful leader being normal, normal things dont make lasting impact .
There are many things that will try to stop you from being an effective and successful leader but you can use your stubbornness to do something good, what I am trying to say, is that there are many things that will come to bend you, that will come to make you bow, to make you give up but being stubborn is what will keep you going, you have to be stubborn. Against doubt they will all come but being stubborn is what keeps you going.
There are things that will come your way just to make you quit the business, give up on your dreams, stop the project, run away from the house, stop the quest, stop the fight. But it will only take a man that is stubborn, one who will not listen to the voice of doubts, a man that is willing to go against the tide, a man that is willing to be unreasonable to make it, reasoning sometimes doesn’t make it right, for something to be reasonable sometimes doesn’t mean its right, when I get to heaven I will like to ask Moses some questions, the guy was brutally stubborn, he gave up a whole lot of things, pharaoh threatened, the crowd criticized him, Korah was disloyal, worshipping of idols but the guy kept on pushing, my advice to you is, when everything seems to be against you and everything seems to make you want to quit leadership you have to be stubborn.
When business is speaking loudly and its shouting “close me down” “close me down” all you need to do is to be stubborn, when the people that are indebted to you request for you to resign, request for you to give up, request for you to step down, you have to be stubborn, when life comes hard on you and demands for you to throw in the towel all you have to do is to be stubborn, it is stubborn people that survives this world. If you do not make up your mind to rebel against the challenges of life, you will end up small in life.
To my leaders out there, can you be stubborn enough to lay off the staff whom you are afraid to lay off, even though you know that, that is the right thing to do but you are afraid to lay them off. To my business leaders out there will you be stubborn enough to give up the voice of fear and take the step you have always wanted to take.
To my religious leaders out there will you be stubborn enough to speak the truth inspite of what it will cost you.
In my leadership journey, I have met some stubborn leaders and I have seen them demonstrate stubborn courage in times of difficulties, I have seen them execute projects that people seem impossible, today my charge to you is do not give up leaders are stubborn, we will all have the opportunity to make it in life, but it is open to only those who are stubborn, leaders who can say I will not give up, I don’t care if I perish I perish just like Esther said, the trials will come the challenges will come, the attack will come but the question will be, will you be a leader enough to be stubborn to see the breakthrough out of it. Stubbornness is an asset, stubbornness is not a disadvantage inthis quest of leadership.
