The Greatest Error In Leadership

While many argue that the greatest error in leadership is loss of vision, I believe its rather failure to prepare for departure.

The vision and the task we are pursing as leaders can be so consuming that we forget that the seat we are seating on is temporal.

No matter where you are, you won't be there forever, even if you are the founder of that organisations be it business or religious.

At the end of the day the church you are doing everything to build will become a monument, the business you killing yourself to build will become a once upon a time endeavour. The political position you are occupying will be void of your name without pouring and mentoring someone to do the same thing your doing and even better.

The prove of great mentorship is your protogy doing better than you. Jesus the greatest leader that ever lived had this to say "I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father. John 14:12(Amp)".

Jesus never built a church, he never  raised a statue of himself, he never built a business empire but, you cannot ignore his leadership impact and influence till today. The great commission  he spoke is all about mentorship. Who are you grooming.?

 *What is mentorship?*

Mentorship is the reinventing of a better version of yourself in someone else. Its actually grooming someone to replace you in a more better way, its also helping someone express his or her potentials in a way they won't have done if left to themselves.

Mentorship can be tasking and demanding that's why most leaders shy away from it, most leaders are either afraid or too insecure to open up to someone else because they feel threatened by followers overtaking them.

Here is the truth you must never forget as a leader.  If you must build a lasting Legacy this is a path you can't avoid.

Someone is depending on your wisdom, expirences, resources and information to be all that God want them to be. God most times exposes us to expirences, wisdom, information and situations not for us basically but for someone else.

Your greatest aspirations should be grooming a takeover before your departure.

WHAT IS MINISTRY TO YOU? pt1

WHAT IS MINISTRY TO YOU? Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves [not Christ]. Do you not yourselves realize and know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you–unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejected? 2 Corinthians 13:5 AMPC For days I have been struggling to post this article because of the fear of being misunderstood, but as a leader sometimes we step on toes to do what is right. Ministry has been misused, misinterpreted, and to some extent abused. The coming of this pandemic, COVID 19 was a blessing in disguise, It came to expose whether you were in ministry or something else. As a pastor and as someone who has been and seen ministry in different forms and shades I get bordered whenever I hear people teach and do ministry in a certain way. To an average pastor or Christian leader out there, when you sa...
